Reserve DANGER for the worst hazards
DANGER is the top signal word. It means the hazard will cause death or serious injury if it is not avoided: exposed high voltage, a permit-required confined space, a live bus. Using DANGER for everything dilutes it. Keep it for the hazards that deserve it and use WARNING or CAUTION for the rest.
Built for gates, vaults and outdoor enclosures
Danger signs tend to live outside: on fences, pad-mount transformers, hatches and pump stations. We engrave them on white/red phenolic and drill them for screws or rivets so they stay put. Adhesive alone is not what we recommend for outdoor or hot surfaces.
Need the actual voltage on the sign? Put it on. High voltage signs that state the voltage tell a worker far more than a generic warning.

Danger Signs: common questions
When should I use a DANGER sign?
Use DANGER when the hazard will cause death or serious injury if it is not avoided. Typical examples are exposed high voltage, confined spaces and arc flash hazards.
What colours are used on danger signs?
DANGER uses a red header with white lettering. Our engraved version is white phenolic with a red core, so the header band and message are cut in red.
Are engraved danger signs suitable outdoors?
Phenolic handles outdoor use well. For outdoor installs we recommend screw or rivet mounting rather than adhesive only. Tell us where the sign is going and we will spec it for that location.
